So, today I’d like to show you my math vocabulary wall. Now, we use everyday math, and everyday math has their own vocabulary cards that you can print off. But, if you don’t have a curriculum that has already made vocabulary cards, you can always go on Pinterest, or teachers’ pay teachers and find great resources like I have. So, math vocabulary, these are all in color. I’ve just cut them apart, laminated them, and I have them ready. So, today’s lesson I might be teaching greater than or less than. And, I would take these cards, I would explain it to the children first, of course. And, then I would watch, I would have them watch me as I staple them up here on my math vocabulary wall. So, that it’s kind of concrete in their head, and they can always refer back to this math vocabulary wall. And, at any time while I’m teaching, and I refer back to one of the vocabulary words that we haven’t used for a while, I always come over here and I say graph, “A picture that helps us understand amounts.” So, math vocabulary walls are great for kids that are learning English, or kids that already have English as their first language and they just need these vocabulary words reinforced.
