Using Pictures to Teach Compound Words

Here is a simple way to use visuals to teach about compound words. The teacher uses a picture of a compound word, cuts it in half, and writes the two parts of the compound word on the two halves. She has the students say each part of the word, then puts the picture together and they say the whole compound word.
