by

Amanda Leger | Wichita Collegiate School | Wichita, Kansas

Here’s a classroom management tip to keep your kiddos on the right voice inside or out. I teach my kids that the number three voice is your loud outside voice, and that voice should only be used when you’re outside, or the teacher might it to call attention to our kids. Number two is an inside voice, that’s the voice I use when I’m teaching. That’s the voice my students use when they’re talking to their friends. Number one is a whisper voice, this is what I use when I have something important to say, if they can’t hear me they’ll calm down to make sure that they can hear the important things that the teacher has to say. Let me translate that zero is nothing when I put zero up I expect no sound even from myself. So, I’ll give them directions in a zero voice, it’s really, fun especially when we have a celebration I let them celebrate at number three, yay, celebrate at number two, yay, celebrate at number one, celebrate at number zero. Thank you.
