Helping Young Students Use Writing Tools
Kristin Freed | Wichita Collegiate School | Wichita, Kansas
This video explains the stages of how young children hold writing tools and how to help them. To write and draw well, children need to learn how to hold a crayon, pencil or pen with a three-finger grip. If a child is not using a three-finger grip when they start school, giving them a shorter tool like a broken crayon can help them learn it.
