Goodbye Song

by

Heidi Jo Gallagher | Wichita Collegiate School | Wichita, Kansas

At the end of the day, the teacher leads students in a goodbye song. This routine indicates that the day is over. It also helps students learn and remember the names of their classmates.

At the end of each class day, I like to take a minute and tell my friends goodbye using their name. In the beginning of the year I do this song so that they can understand what their classmates’ names are and become familiar with each other. Are you ready? Singing: “Goodbye, Ava. Goodbye, Ezi. Goodbye, Kami. Goodbye, Javen. Goodbye, Henry. Goodbye, Crew. Goodbye Cariad. Goodbye, Rad. Goodbye, Sloan. Goodbye, Mrs. Gallagher. Goodbye friends I’ll see you soon.” And then, throughout the year it’s just nice so that they will know that I will miss them and I’m excited to see them again.
