This is my job center in first grade. I know that first graders really love to have a job in class, and so I’ve created this job center and each child is assigned a number. I put a number on just a little tiny clothespin and I clip each of those numbers onto a job, and so each Monday students come in, find their clip and they can see what their job is now. The first week of school, or really the first month of school, I go over these jobs several times and we talk about what their responsibilities are so that they can then remember that the grounds crew people, they help clean the ground and keep our room nice and tidy, and the postmaster, is responsible for taking anything to the office. I find that in first grade, and probably most of grade students really enjoy a classroom job, and this is just how I have organized it.
