When working with young children, I find it very important that we create an atmosphere of caring and a family unit. And they perform so much better, and they feel safe in their environment when they feel like everyone’s cheering for them. So, one of the activities I do is a called a class building activity or a team building activity. And all that you need is a hula hoop and your students. And to do this activity we need to gather together in a circle, and you all you put the hula hoop on your arm and everyone holds hands. Now the goal of this activity is to work together to get this hula hoop around the circle. And so, they will have to decide if they need to lower it, so their friend can step through. And then raise it, their hands up so it will go over their head. And then will pass it on to the next student. And they have to get this hula hoop all the way around the circle and back to the beginning. This creates an atmosphere of caring and trust. They cheer each other on and they help each other out. And so, when we finish this activity, the students are always so excited and cheering for each other. And it creates a wonderful atmosphere of caring and team-building.
