Celebrating Student Success

Throughout the school day there are many successes. Often times the students look for our recognition, as the teacher. To see that I am proud of their work. Many times, what I do though, is I ask them if they’re proud of it. I want them to feel good about the product that have done. Or the creation they’ve created. So, I’ll have them point to themselves and say, “I’m proud of myself.” Another great way to celebrate successes, is if someone is struggling with something, or you just see that they’ve work really hard on something in class to stop the whole class, and have a class celebration. Let’s put our hands up for our friend, who did this. And really have that school classroom family celebration of a success. This starts to build the confidence in the students, that my friends are proud of me, my teacher is proud of me, and most important I’m proud of myself.
