Breaking Words into Sounds to Teach Rhyming

by

Amanda Leger | Wichita Collegiate School | Wichita, Kansas

In this lesson, the teacher and students learn to create rhymes by breaking up a word into sounds. After sounding out the word, the teacher asks the students to change the beginning sound in order to create a new word that rhymes with the first one.
