Use whole body chants to get your students attention.

Read transcript

I find that I have to get my students’ attention hundreds of times a week. Using the same quiet signal sometimes gets a little old. So in my classroom, I try to use body movements, as well as different voice levels or different sayings. Here’s just a few of the things I do in my classroom; try one of these in your classroom this week. Oh, class! Oh, yes? Eyes on me! Eyes on you! ST- -OP! Hocus pocus! Everybody focus! Laser eyes! Laser eyes! Oh, I only have ten sets of eyes. I need fourteen. Laser eyes! Laser eyes! Macaroni and cheese! Let’s freeze!
