Physical movement helps students pay attention and stay focused. There are many different ways to include movement in a lesson. Active Participation can involve movement of the whole body, such as jumping, dancing, or moving around the classroom area…or just a part of the body, as in clapping, hand motions or moving objects around. Students can also do movements along with rhythm, rhymes, or music. This encourages them to pay attention. This is a great way to get students involved in their own learning.
