Teach for Life is a global movement of people sharing knowledge and learning from each other, to better educate our children and create hope for the world.

Our Roots

Teach for Life is a branch of the international
nonprofit Trees for Life.

Trees for Life demonstrates that when a few dedicated people work toward one common goal, something extraordinary happens. The combination of their diverse skills creates a force that can move mountains. For over thirty years, we have used that force to empower people around the world—which led to the planting of hundreds of millions of trees.

Now Teach for Life is harnessing that same force to help educate our children.

Why Education?

For many throughout the world, education is a literal
life-saver. As one village elder put it, “There are only
two ways our children can escape from poverty. One
is at their funeral. The other is through education.”

Even where there are schools and passionate, dedicated teachers, those teachers often lack access to training or educational tools. Teach for Life provides a “bridge” to make knowledge about how to teach available to all–through a grassroots, people-to-people movement.

The Vision

As an educator, your knowledge transforms the lives of hundreds of children. By sharing that knowledge with teachers in every corner of the world through the Teach for Life movement, you can impact the lives of millions more. Plus, you can improve your current skills by learning from your peers.

Starting a Movement

On this website you will find video-based teacher training lessons created by highly-qualified educators. In this early phase of the movement, the lessons are in English. They are models to guide and inspire others who wish to contribute from anywhere in the world, in any language.

Now, the movement is starting to spread worldwide. You can help by creating lessons about how you teach, sharing videos with others, and using the lessons to learn from others.
