Reading Stamina is an important skill that first graders learn. Reading Stamina is when, a child is able to read for a long-ish period of time without distracting themselves or others in my classroom. I’ve made a reading stamina chart, right now we are at 16 minutes of reading stamina filled in, because we are able to read for 16 straight minutes without being distracted, or without distracting others. Our goal by the end of the year is 20 minutes without distracting other or being distracted ourselves. Make a reading Stamina Chart in your classroom today!
