Principles of teaching: Introduction. What we have learned earlier is that the first part of the lesson is the introduction, and it takes one-fifth of the lesson. In this lesson, Mr. Peppa learns about the introduction. He will learn about the what, the why, and the how of the introduction. First, he will learn about the what and the why. The what is the introduction. The why is because it provides focus and direction for your lesson. The introduction gets your lesson started on the right track by providing focus and direction. How you create focus and direction for your lesson is by doing three things: Capture interest, prepare students, and share goals. Capture interest. Prepare students. Share goals. Capture interest. Prepare students. Share goals. Capture interest. Prepare students. Share goals. Capture interest. Prepare students. Share goals. What did Mr. Peppa learn? The what is the introduction. The why is that it provides focus and direction for your lesson. And the how is that you capture interest, prepare students, and share goals.
